DUAL PURPOSE DOGS can be provided with skills combining elements of expertise. These dogs are fully trained Police Patrol K9s who are also trained in the detection of Narcotics OR Explosives.  This presents a significant up-front cost savings compared to acquiring multiple dogs as well as long term savings of the sustaining costs associated with handling and maintaining a multiple dog Police K9 unit. This is of particular advantage for smaller police departments and high profile executives where a single dog might be required to be multi-faceted rather than a specialist in one particular skill-set.

At Worldwide Canine, handler training and bonding period, K9 Certification, and Police K9 Handler Certification are part of the canine package.  Handler accommodations in our onsite dorm facility during the training period is also included.

All Dual Purpose dogs purchased from Worldwide Canine come with health record, vaccinations, X-rays and a 1 year replacement guarantee against the manifestation of genetic defects.

PLEASE NOTE that a Dual Purpose Police K9 is NOT a dog trained to detect both narcotics and explosives.  A professional working dog should never be trained in the detection of both drugs and bombs due to the potentially fatal results that can occur if a dog's bomb alert indication is mistaken for a drug alert indication.  K9 teams have lost their lives in the past due to the unprofessional sale of a dog trained to detect both sets of odors.
