BOMB DOGS

Explosive Detector Dogs, or bomb dogs, are trained by Worldwide Canine Inc. to perform at state of the art levels in all facets of the skill of explosive detection using the positive reward system.  Our bomb dogs are trained to smell the explosive and indicate to the handler by assuming an unassisted "sit" position.

Explosives utilized in detection training of our bomb dogs include dynamite, plastic explosives, TNT, detonation cord, ammonium nitrate, Flex-X, Slurry Gel and smokeless powder. Worldwide Canine Inc. maintains an extensive range of samples and can also cater to any customer's specific request.

Worldwide Canine Inc. trained Explosive Detector Dogs are extremely versatile canines possessing the flexibility to adapt to any type of search situation.  Explosive detection Handler training and certification as well as K9 bomb dog certification are part of the trained canine package.

• OBEDIENCE

All Worldwide Canine Inc. bomb dogs are trained in Fundamental Obedience to a maximum proficiency level. Both on- and off-    leash obedience are taught. Commands include: sit, stay, down, heel and recall. Our bomb dogs are commonly trained in English, German or Czech but alternative specific languages can also be available upon request.
 
• FOCUS UNDER DISTRACTION

Explosive Detector Dogs trained by Worldwide Canine Inc. will demonstrate the ability to perform during gunfire, loud noises, crowds, and a number of routine distractions in any environment.
 
• EXPLOSIVE DETECTION SEARCH

Searches are taught in many environments including the following:

Buildings: Our bomb dogs learn to perform explosive detection searches in buildings varying in size and complexity, while working through a number of distractions.
Vehicles:  Explosive detection dogs are taught to search through vehicles of many types, from small cars to large trucks.
Luggage/Packages: Bomb dogs at Worldwide Canine  receive extensive training searching lockers and detecting trace amounts of explosives material in parcel and letter type packages of varying size and shape.
Aircraft Explosive detector dogs are trained to detect in aircraft, both for the cargo and the subtleties of the air-frame itself.

 

All Bomb dogs purchased from Worldwide Canine come with health record, vaccinations, X-rays and a 1 year replacement guarantee against the manifestation of genetic defects.

Dual Purpose Police Dogs:  Dual Purpose Patrol / Explosives Police Dogs are trained in both Explosives Detection and Police Patrol work.  This presents a significant up-front cost savings compared to acquiring multiple dogs as well as long term savings of the sustaining costs associated with handling and maintaining a multiple dog Police K9 Unit.  Please see our Dual Purpose Dogs page for more information.
